Member stories

“When I started out on my own, I needed somewhere that had everything set up so I could just focus on my clients. Clarence gave me that: reception, offices, right near the courts. As my team's grown, they've grown with me. I've gone from one office to four, and it's all just worked.”

Kris Jahnke

“I love it! The office is impressive to clients, the support staff are professional, friendly and knowledgeable, and the meeting rooms and hot desks are usually available at short notice. It is welcoming to me, staff and clients.”

“As the mother of a young child, Clarence has supported me not only as a sole practitioner, but in my growth when I was ready to expand my team. The flexibility and support make it possible to work on my own terms and still have a successful career.”

What makes Clarence different from a regular serviced office?

Clarence is the only workspace in Australia built by lawyers, for lawyers. Instead of a desk beside unrelated businesses, you’re in a building of legal practices who understand the work, with reception, IT and admin support in house. It was created 33 years ago by lawyers.

Do Clarence offices require a lock-in lease?

Virtual memberships are month-to-month with no lock-in, no set-up fee and no security deposit. Private office terms are flexible and built around how practices work, with options explained on a tour.

How much does an office or virtual membership cost?

Virtual memberships run from $100 to $410 a month depending on the tier. Meeting rooms are from $45 an hour. Private offices are priced per office per month and published on each building page: from $850 in Sydney, $1,105 in Melbourne and $935 in Brisbane on a 12 month term, all ex GST.

What’s included in a Clarence office?

A furnished private office, reception, mail handling, cleaning, utilities and 24/7 access, plus free access to the Clarence CPD Series. Meeting rooms are bookable from $45 an hour, and in-house IT and paralegal support are available at member rates.

Where is Clarence located?

Six buildings across three cities: Sydney (111 Elizabeth Street, 65 York Street, 133 Castlereagh Street), Melbourne (385 Bourke Street, 456 Lonsdale Street) and Brisbane (95 North Quay).

Can I book meeting rooms at Clarence?

Yes. Meeting and boardrooms seat 2 to 50 people (event and training spaces up to 60), from $45 per hour, each with screens and video conferencing. Members book through the online system after joining.

Does Clarence offer legal support services?

Yes, Clarence Legal Services is an in-house practice offering paralegal and back-office support as well as conveyancing, and probate advice to member firms as a reduced rate.

What is a serviced office?
